Volleyball inks Spanish Springs product Addison Schreurs to 2024 roster

CHEYENNE, WY – The Laramie County Community College volleyball team announced their newest signing to the Fall 2024 roster, inking Addison Schreurs to join the Golden Eagles as their newest setter.

“We are excited that Addison chose to become a Golden Eagle and join the LCCC volleyball team,” Head Coach Zach Shaver said. “She is great setter who is athletic, possesses a strong work ethic, and has a high volleyball IQ. Our coaching staff and student athletes all felt that Addi was the perfect fit for our team in 2024. We look forward to following her accomplishments during this club season and her arrival on campus in August.”

The success of the LCCC volleyball team over the past two seasons under Shaver, not only on the court but in the classroom, were big draws for Schreurs and helped her make the decision to join the team.

“I chose LCCC because of the culture throughout LCCC,” Schreurs said. “The support behind the volleyball team from fellow students, the academic support LCCC offers to their athletes, and being held to high expectations both in the classroom and on the court.”

Schreurs is from Sparks, Nevada and spent her last season playing for 5A Spanish Springs where she helped to lead them to a Northern League Championship in 2023. It was the first time the school had won the Northern District in school history.

The team ended up finishing third at the state tournament and said she is looking forward to building on her success at the high school and club levels as a Golden Eagle.

“I am looking forward to growing as a player and being part of a team with high expectations both on and off the court,” Schreurs said.

Along with her team’s success, Schreurs also saw plenty of individual success, being named to the All-District and All-Region teams her junior and senior seasons after leading the 5A classification in aces and leading the Northern District in assists both years, setting the school record in both categories for a single season and setting the career record for aces.

She is a four-year letter winner and was a team captain for two of those seasons.

Outside of her high school career, Schreurs also gained attention at the club level, earning a bid to the 2021 U16 Open Beach Nationals in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Schreurs is the third signee this offseason for the Golden Eagles volleyball team, joining Nina Jasiecka and Paulina Mielniczuk, who signed out of Poland in December.

Athletes are set to arrive on campus in the first week of August, with the season opening later that month.
