HUTCHINSON – Avery Nelson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) had 14 kills, Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) and Kylie Martin (Gypsum, Colorado) had nine to lift #11 seed Laramie County Community College to a 16-25, 25-15, 25-20, 25-23 win over St. Petersburg College in a consolation semi-final on Friday night.
The Golden Eagles are now 34-7 overall and will move on in the consolation bracket where they will play #8 seed Panola Saturday morning for 9th place.
Nelson hit .375 in the match with 14 kills and two errors. Kyle Meltzer (Fort Collins, Colorado) led the Golden Eagles with 16 digs and Morrison added 12 digs. Golden Eagles had six blocks and two apiece from Martin and Jessica Benedict (Wright, Wyoming). Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) had 47 assists for the Golden Eagles.
Ana Carolina de Almieda Costa led the Titans with 16 kills.
