SHERIDAN, WY. – Kylie Martin (Gypsum, Colorado) posted 17 kills and three blocks, while Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) added nine kills and 12 digs as Laramie County Community College scored a three-set victory over Sheridan College in the Region IX North Championship game on Saturday afternoon.
LCCC won the sets 25-13, 25-23, 25-14 and captured the Region IX North Championship and earned a bid to the NJCAA National Tournament.
The Golden Eagles won their 12th straight match and improved their record to 32-6 overall. LCCC will know in the next couple of days as to what seed they've earned.
Sophomore setter Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) had 35 assists against Sheridan. Brandt is only 80 assists away from surpassing the 2,000-assist plateau for her career. Freshman libero Macy Bourn (Frederick, Colorado) led the Golden Eagles defense with 14 digs.
