Golden Eagles Sweep Sheridan College in Straight Sets

The Laramie County Community College Volleyball team won their second match of the Region IX North Tournament against Sheridan College on Thursday. LCCC would win in straight sets (25-22, 25-14 and 25-19), moving to 26-8 overall.

The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first set on Thursday. After the Generals closed the gap mid-way through the set, the Golden Eagles would go on a run, opening up a five point lead. SC would battle back to bring the game back to within two. LCCC took the upper hand, winning the set 25-22.

The Golden Eagles would control the second set of the evening, taking the set by 11. Separate scoring runs from LCCC would allow the Golden Eagles to open the lead.

LCCC came out strong in the third set as the Golden Eagles looked to take the match in straight sets. The Golden Eagles opened an early lead that would be too much for SC. The Generals would bring the game within striking distance before LCCC opened a late run to take the set and match 25-22.

As a team, the Golden Eagles recorded 16 block assists on the night. Tori Passarelli picked up 14 digs while Preston Lienemann recorded 12. Kyra Brandt led the Golden Eagles with 12 assists.

The Golden Eagles return to the court on Friday, November 4 for a matchup with Northwest College. Friday's game moves the winner into the championship game with play set to begin at 4 p.m. in Riverton.
