Golden Eagles Lose Match in Sheridan

The Laramie County Community College Volleyball team continued its road stand on Saturday. LCCC matched up with Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Golden Eagles fell in five sets, moving to 24-8 overall.

The Golden Eagles struggled at the net with only one block in the match. Set one saw LCCC take the win 25-22. Laramie County jumped out to an early lead, aided by two scoring runs, defeating the Generals.

Set two saw a close game early on both sides of the net. The Golden Eagles picked up points early in the set, but a late scoring run would seal the set for the Generals 25-14. The Third set saw LCCC give up some points late and fall 26-24. LCCC bounced back in set four with a 26-24 win but fell in the final set 15-11.

As a team, the Golden Eagles recorded 20 block assists led by Elizabeth Clark with seven. Lauren Vanderwood chipped in with three. Clark led the Golden Eagles with 14 kills to add to her block assists and picked up a dig. Kyra Brandt recorded 30 assists, with Tori Passarelli recording 42 digs.

LCCC is on the road for the Region IX North Tournament. The Golden Eagles will take on Central Wyoming College on November 2 at 6 p.m. The tournament will take place in Riverton, Wyoming.
