Golden Eagles Defeat Casper College in Three Sets
 

The Laramie County Community College volleyball team swept Casper College in a three set match win (25-13, 25-19 and 25-20) Friday evening.

In the first set, the Golden Eagles found themselves in tested contest early on with the Thunderbirds as both teams exchanged points up to the eight point mark. The Golden Eagles then went on a 7-2 run to extend the lead and eventually take the set 25-13.

LCCC was in control of set two and never let the Thunderbirds find a way to rally back into the match. In the third set, the Thunderbirds jumped out to the early 9-6 lead but Laramie County rallied took the lead 11-10 and never trailed again. The rally started with a kill from Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) and a block by Elizabeth Clark (Sandy, Utah).

Preston Lienemann (Loveland, Colorado) led the way with 12 kills, while Kiley Ridgway (Riverton, Wyoming) recorded nine kills. Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) was the top setter with 22 assists. Tori Passarelli (Littleton, Colorado) led with 16 digs while Lienemann had nine. Ridgway and Madi Taylor (Amarillo, Texas) led with three blocks apiece. 

The Golden Eagles (23-6, 8-1 Region IX North) will host Eastern Wyoming College at 5 p.m. Saturday.
