Volleyball Sweeps Western Wyoming

The Laramie County Community College volleyball put together a 3-0 (25-15, 26-24 and 25-14) sweep to Western Wyoming in Region IX North action on Friday evening at LCCC Gymnasium.

The win moves the Golden Eagles to 16-5 on the season and 3-0 in Region IX North play. Sophomore Preston Lienemann tallied a team-high 10 kills while Madi Taylor had eight and Kiley Ridgway, Elizabeth Clark and Carlee Morrison each contributed seven kills apiece. Kyra Brandt dished out 20 assists and Makenzie DiGesualdo added 15. Tori Passarelli captured 16 digs while Morrison finished the match with nine digs.

The team exchanged leads in the first set and after a timeout the Golden Eagles responded with a run of consecutive points to take the first set 25-15. In set number two the Mustangs gave LCCC all they could handle but it wasn't enough as the Golden Eagles took the set 26-24. The third set was all Laramie County as the Golden Eagles did not trail and led by as many as 11 in the set for a 25-14 decision.

The Golden Eagles are home again on Saturday, Oct. 1 against Central Wyoming College. First serve is set for 3 p.m. at LCCC Gymnasium.
