No. 5 LCCC Knocks Off No. 1 Eastern Florida

Three first half goals was enough for the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles women's soccer team to knock off No. 1 Eastern Florida State College at home on Friday afternoon.

Jemma House got the Golden Eagles on the board in the 8th minute on a penalty kick after she was taken down in the box. Aubrey Gessner made it 2-0 in the 18th minute after she got on the end of a ball that around the 6-yard box. LCCC continued to put together some great combinations and were rewarded for that in the 30th minute when Natalie De Marco found Nakita Woods at the top of the box. EFSC would get in a goal in the second half from Juna Suppan in the 62nd minute.

The Golden Eagles (13-1-1) have now won 12 straight games. LCCC would own a 15-8 total shots advantage and 7-4 shots on goal lead over the Titans. House led LCCC with eight shots, while Gessner had four shots. LCCC goalkeeper Jess Urquhart made three saves in the game.

The Golden Eagles return to action at 4 p.m. tomorrow against Western Wyoming Community College for the regular season home finale.
