Golden Eagles Steamroll Northeastern JC 5-0

The Golden Eagles hosted Northeastern Junior College on Wednesday evening at South High School. LCCC started the match with the greater part of possession from the kick-off. Against the run-of-play, the Golden Eagles were able to get a ball behind to Jemma House who beat the keeper and played it back post to Shuani Griffiths for the first goal in the 30th minute. At half-time the score was 1-0, Golden Eagles.

LCCC quickly added the second goal of the match in the 49th minute when House struck a free kick from 26yds out. Goals continued to be scored in the run-of-play and off set-pieces. House netted her 14 goal of the season from a corner kick taken by Abby Morillon in the 53rd minute. In the 66th minute a ball was played to Morillon and played a wide through bal to Nikita Woods who finished the shot far post. Maria da Silveira got the fifth goal in the 73rd minute as Morillon beat a defender out wide and played a ball to the top of the box for da Silveira. Morillon's three assist puts her in a tie for third for most assists in a match.

Jess Urquhart started in goal for the Golden Eagles and didn't have to record a save. Kelly Morine came on in the 68th minute and made three saves.

Golden Eagles are now 8-1-1 on the year and will host Trinidad State Junior College Friday at 4 p.m. at LCCC field.
