No. 7 Laramie County Drops Western Nebraska 6-0

The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team found themselves scoring a number of goals in a 6-0 victory against Western Nebraska Community College Wednesday evening. The win improves the Golden Eagles record to 6-1-1 on the year and 5-1 in Region IX play.

The Golden Eagles got on the board in the 20th minute when Jemma House found space just inside the box and struck it in the back of the net. In the 25th minute the Golden Eagles got their second goal as Shelbie Myers found space down the right side before bringing it back inside to find House for her second goal. One minute Dani House found Shauni Griffiths for the third goal. House completed her hat trick in the first half in the 34th minute on a feed from Griffiths.

The Golden Eagles defense was not really tested in the first as LCCC controlled the possession and didn't give up a shot on goal in the first half.

LCCC scored the fifth goal of the match shortly after both teams returned to the field for the second half. LCCC's Griffiths found Aubrey Gessner out wide who curled in a shot in the 48th minute. Gessner would record the final goal in the 60th minute on another strike from the right side.

Goalkeeper Jess Urquhart played 58 minutes and didn't have make a save. Kelly Morine replaced Urquhart and made two saves.

Golden Eagles are back in action on Saturday against Western Wyoming Community College in Rock Springs, Wyoming. Kickoff is scheduled for 11 a.m.
