House and Griffiths Two Goals Lift LCCC to 7-1 Win vs Sheridan

With a pair of goals from Jemma House and Shauni Griffiths, the Laramie County Community College women's soccer team defeated Sheridan College 7-1 to extend its unbeaten streak to five games.

House netted her first goal in the 8th minute to get on the board. Goalkeeper Jess Urquhart was credited with the assist on the goal. Griffiths then got in the action as she scored in the 12th minute on a pass from Abby Morillon. Morillon opened up the game in the 29th minute by scoring an unassisted goal. House would get her second in the 31st minute to give LCCC a 4-0 lead at the half.

LCCC created a ton of opportunities and took advantage of them. Griffiths extended the lead in the 46th minute on a cross from Natalie De Marco. Sarah Erickson headed home a goal in the 54th minute on a pass from House and Elise Atkins rounded out the scoring in the 80th minute on a feed from Morillon.

Sheridan's Ashley Wilcox broke up the shutout in the 85th minute with a goal. Golden Eagles outshot the Generals 23-3 in the game. Jess Urquhart and Kelly Morine split time in goal and each recorded one save.

LCCC will host Western Nebraska on Wednesday, September 21st at 7:30 p.m. Game will be played at Cheyenne East High School.
