2023-24 would be a tough season for McWilliams in her third year as the head coach of the Golden Eagles. The team had trouble finding consitent scoring outside of All-Region selections Lylah Spring and Blanche Toualeu and finished with an 11-18 record. They fell in the opening round of the Region IX tournament to Eastern Wyoming College. 

The Goldne Eagles went on a tear during McWilliams second season in charge of the program, led by a powerful core of sophomores and paced by several freshman who made their mark on the program. The team would set the all time wins record for the school with 23 victories to only eight losses. McWilliams finished the region schedule at 6-4 and would guide the team to their second straight Region IX semifinal before falling to eventual champion Casper College, who was responsible for three of the teams defeats during the season. 

McWilliams finished her first season as head coach of the Golden Eagles with plenty of success. LCCC made their deepest run in the Region IX tournament, making it to the semi-finals to cap off a 18-12 season. 

Coach McWilliams has had success in sencind players to the next level while at LCCC, including a NCAA Divison I signee in Jamy de Kock who was signed to University of Texas - Commerce after the 2022-23 season. She has sent five of her athletes in two season on to four year schools, with several making key contributions at NCAA Division II programs in the RMAC, as well as several who have been picked up by NAIA schools. 

McWilliams comes to LCCC after spending four seasons as the head coach at Lincoln University, an NCAA Division II program, in Jefferson City, Mo. from 2016-2020. McWilliams coached Lincoln to its best start in program history in 2018-19 coaching the Blue Tigers to a 9-2 record in the first 11 games of the season. McWilliams guided the Blue Tigers to seven straight wins to open the season, including road wins over Southern Arkansas and Northwest Missouri.

Prior to Lincoln, McWilliams spent five seasons as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division I level at the University of South Carolina Upstate. While at USC-Upstate, McWilliams was part of a staff that led the Spartans to the best season program history, winning 22 games in 2015-16. During McWilliams time in Spartanburg, S.C., the Spartans made two trips to the post-season, reaching the WBI semifinals in 2016.

The Pensacola, Fla. native served as an assistant coach at the NCAA Division II level at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, N.C. While at Elizabeth City State, McWilliams helped the Vikings win the CIAA Northern Division title in 2010-11 and earn a trip to the semifinals of the CIAA tournament.

McWilliams spent two seasons as an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Livingstone College from 2007-09 and one season as an assistant at Winston-Salem State in 2006-07.

McWilliams started her playing career at East Carolina from 2001-2003 before transferring to Brevard College. While at Brevard, McWilliams became the program’s all-time leader in assists (296) and steals (288) while averaging 16.5 points per game, the second-highest scoring average in program history.

McWilliams earned her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Brevard College in 2005 and received a master’s degree in Sports Management/Sports Coaching from the United States Sports Academy.
