Golden Eagles Fall Short

SHERIDAN, WY – The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team came up short in a 67-59 loss at Sheridan College on Saturday afternoon in Region IX North action.

The host Generals made six three-pointers and sank 21-of-41 free throws in the game en route to the win.

Freshman Sam Hester (Saratoga Springs, Utah) nailed three three-pointers in the game for the Golden Eagles. Hester finished with nine points. Abby Garreaud (Magna, Utah) finished a team-high 13 points, while sophomore Haylie Anderson (Clearfield, Utah) added 10 points on Saturday afternoon.

LCCC falls to 14-6 and 3-1 in Region IX North, while Sheridan improves to 12-7 overall and 3-1 in Region IX North.

LCCC finished the game shooting 33.3 percent and lost the rebounding advantage 41-40. SC connected at 38.5 percent from the field.

Garreaud pulled down a game-high 13 rebounds to complete the double-double with 13 points. Anna Terron (Terragona, Spain) led the team with four assists, while Ja'Kia Wells (Mesquite, Texas) added five steals. Terron tallied six points off the bench.

LCCC travels to Western Wyoming Community College on Wednesday before hosting Gillette College on Saturday.
