Anderson Scores Game-High 18 points in Win at Central Wyoming

RIVERTON, WY - Sophomore Haylie Anderson (Clearfield, Utah) scored a game-high 18 points, and it was enough as the Laramie County Community College women's basketball team won a 67-52 decision at Central Wyoming College on Wednesday night in the Golden Eagles' second Region IX North road game of the season. 

LCCC improves to 14-5 overall and 3-0 in Region IX North play. Central Wyoming falls to 4-12 overall and 0-3 in Region IX North. 

The Golden Eagles jumped out to an early lead in the first half and were in control all the way through. LCCC shot 42.6 percent from the field, 26.7 percent (4-of-15) from three-point range and 77.3 percent from the foul line. Laramie County owned a 32-19 halftime lead. 

CWC was limited to 38.1 shooting percentage, while the Golden held the edge in rebounding 35-29. CWC had the edge on offensive rebounds 11-2. 

Anderson was 6-of-15 from the field and also made five free throws to go along with six steals and two assists. 

Abby Garreaud (Magna, Utah) added 17 points and six rebounds. Kaysen Hobbs (Fort Collins, Colorado) came off the bench and scored 11 points. Ja'Kia Wells (Mesquite, Texas) chipped in with 10 points and pulled down five rebounds. 

The Golden Eagles forced Central Wyoming into 31 turnovers and collected 11 steals. 

LCCC is at Sheridan College on Saturday.
