Golden Eagles Blow Out CSU Club Team 112-51

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College women's basketball team welcomed CSU Club Team to the RAC. On Tuesday evening, the Golden Eagles defeated the Rams 112-51. The Golden Eagles improve to 6-3 on the season.

The Golden Eagles got off to a great start and led by as many as 19 in the first quarter after a three-pointer by Sam Hester (Saratoga Springs, Utah) with just over a minute left. The Golden Eagles continued to add to that lead in the second quarter. LCCC led 63-31 at the half. A converted field goal by Claudia Hernandez (Barcelona, Spain) with a minute to go in the third quarter gave the Golden Eagles a 95-42 lead at the end of the quarter. LCCC was able to close the game out and coast in the fourth quarter.

As a team, the Golden Eagles shot 50 percent (41-82) from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc. At the line, the Golden Eagles were 11-of-12 (91%). The Golden Eagles pulled down 49 total rebounds, including 18 offensive rebounds. Hernandez led the Golden Eagles with 18 points going 6-of-8 from downtown. She also had five assists. Haylie Anderson (Clearfield, Utah) was also in double digits with 18. Hester finished with 14 points. Hester and Kaysen Hobbs (Fort Collins, Colorado) pulled down eight rebounds. Hester also dished out six assists. Anderson, Anna Terron (Tarragona, Spain), Sariah Jones (Roy, Utah), Hester and Ximena Gutierrez (Glenwood Springs, Colorado) had three steals. Terron and Gutierrez each had two blocks in the game.

Up next, the Golden Eagles will host the Indians of McCook Community College at home on Friday, December 6 at 5:30 p.m. in the RAC.

Tuesday was also Girls On The Run night and raised $686 dollars for the non-profit organization.
