Hot-Shooting Northwest Kansas Tech Downs LCCC, 86-43

GOODLAND, Kansas – A hot-shooting Northwest Kansas Technical College squad proved too much for the Laramie County Community College women's basketball team to overcome as the Golden Eagles (8-11) dropped an 86-43 decision to the Mavericks (25-1) on Saturday, Feb. 4, in Goodland, Kansas.

Northwest Kansas Tech finished the affair connecting on more than 40 percent (.408) of its shots from the field, while Laramie County fired at 29.5 percent clip on the evening.

Freshman Madison Hamm (Fort Collins, CO) continued to display her credentials on the floor scoring a team-high 11 points on 5-of-10 shooting from the floor, while adding 10 rebounds to complete the double-double. Freshman Caylin Arnold (Strasburg, CO) added eight points.

Tran Brown sparked Northwest Kansas Tech to register a game-high 16 points, going 6-of-17 from the field. Joining her with double-digit scoring efforts for the Mavericks was A'nikeyawna Barber, Zoi Thompson, Mikeinah Downs and Arion Jackson with 14, 12, 12 and 10 tallies, respectively.

NKTC controlled the pace of the game on the glass as the Mavericks outrebounded the Golden Eagles, 53-40, including 21-13 on the offensive glass.

Turnovers really hurt the Golden Eagles as they committed 30 of them compared to Northwest Kansas Tech who had 15.

Freshman Aubrey Goodrick (Worland, WY) chipped in with seven points coming off the bench for LCCC.

The Golden Eagles return to the road this Tuesday, Feb. 7, as LCCC takes on Eastern Wyoming in a 6 p.m. tilt in Torrington, Wyoming.
