Golden Eagles Rodeo Wraps Up Fall

Cheyenne, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College rodeo team wrapped up the 2018 fall season this past weekend by hosting the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo. The men's team finished eighth and the women's team taking ninth.

Under the direction of new head coach Seth Glause, the Golden Eagles had a solid showing of individuals over the weekend. The men's team took eighth with 95 total points. Ryan Shuckburgh took fourth with a time of 8.9 on two runs in the steer wrestling and was sitting in second after a long-go run of 4.3. Brock Belkham finished fifth in the tie down roping with a time 24.3 seconds. Teammate Kaden Lappe was sixth with a time of 31.2 seconds.

In the team roping, Clayton Symons paired up with Brady Joseph from Chadron and claimed sixth with a time of 106.4. They had long-go time of 6.4. Houston Brown finished sixth in saddle bronc riding with a long-go score of 69. Riley Simmons finished seventh with a long-go score of 68. Cole Patterson took eighth with a score of 64 in the long-go.

The Golden Eagles will be back in action in the spring when they travel to Gillette, Wyo. on Mar. 15-17 to participate in the Gillette College rodeo.
