CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The #17 Golden Eagles (15-3-1) hosted #7 Marshalltown Community College in a North Central District Championship game and beat the Tigers (14-4-2) 4-3 in a penalty kick shootout after both teams went scoreless for 110 minutes.

The match started quickly for the Golden Eagles and had some good opportunities early on in front of goal. Marshalltown would gain control of possession. LCCC's Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado) had a shot go off the crossbar late in the first half.

In the second half, LCCC's best opportunity came late when Carlos Vargas (Heber City, Utah) shot was tipped over the crossbar by Marshalltown goalkeeper Bruno Fazzolari De Freitas.

Declan Domyan (Johannesburg, South Africa) came up big on the fifth shooter for Marshalltown and blocked the shot to give the Golden Eagles the win.

The win sends Laramie County to the NJCAA National Tournament for the first time in program history. Information on the tournament will be released on Monday or Tuesday.
