Golden Eagles Defeat Central CC at Home

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College Men's Soccer team looked to stretch their unbeaten streak to 11 games as they took on Region IX opponent Central Community College out of Columbus, Nebraska. LCCC got the victory with two first half goals from Cameron Broadhurst (Broomfield, Colorado) to give them a 2-0 win. The Golden Eagles attack was more potent in every area this afternoon with a 21-6 edge in shots, 13-3 in shots on goal and 10-2 edge in corner kicks.

LCCC had a couple of chances to get the Golden Eagles on the board early on, but missed two shots wide in the first two minutes. It would not be long before LCCC got their first goal of the game, when Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado) corner kick found the head of Broadhurst in the 12th minute. Broadhurst would strike again in the 39th minute on another header on a cross from Castruita. It was his 11th and 12th goals of the season for the sophomore.

The second half had the Golden Eagles continuing to fire at the goal but couldn't get any to find the back of the net.

#1 seed Laramie County will head to Denver, Colorado next weekend to take on the #5 seed Western Nebraska Community College on Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Regency Sports Complex at Metro State University.
