Pair of Goals Sparks Golden Eagles in 2-0 Victory Against Trinidad State

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team scored two goals late in the first half Sunday afternoon at home, sparking a 2-0 victory over visiting Trinidad State Junior College in Region IX action.

This marks the ninth consecutive win for the Golden Eagles and fourth clean sheet of the season.

The Golden Eagles (11-3 overall, 9-0 Region IX) had some nice combination play in the attacking third and were rewarded in the 38th minute when Omar Castruita (Boulder, Colorado) converted on his chance off a cross from Abe Lopez (Boulder, Colorado) for a 1-0 Laramie County lead.

Castruita wasn't done as he helped on the second goal and found Jonathan Jimenez-Flores (Longmont, Colorado) in the 43rd minute to extend the lead.

LCCC keeper Declan Domyan (Johannesburg, South Africa) did not have to make a save on the three shots he faced. Laramie County put the pressure on Trinidad State (6-6-1 overall), outshooting the Trojans 27-3 in the game.

The Golden Eagles look to build on Sunday's victory when they next play at home on Saturday, hosting Western Wyoming Community College at 1:30 p.m. at LCCC Soccer Field.
