Men’s Soccer Falls to Generals 4-2

CHEYENNE, WYOMING – The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team was at home on Saturday afternoon for a Region IX North match-up against Sheridan College. The Generals won 4-2 in a battle for the second seed.

Nicolas Parris took advantage of poor clearance from the Golden Eagles in the 11th minute to put Sheridan up 1-0. Keino Davids made it 2-0 in the 21st minute on a goal off a corner kick. Matt Wren (Welwyn, England) scored for the Golden Eagles in the 41st minute to cut the lead in half. The Generals scored in the 73rd and 79th minute. Hector Quezada (Rock Springs, Wyoming) scored in the 89th minute on a cross from Nick Rizo (Aurora, Colorado).

The Golden Eagles outshot the Generals 17-8 in the match but Sheridan College held the advantage in shots on goal 7-5. LCCC had the edge in corner kicks 9-8. Brady Mangel (Thornton, Colorado) was in net for LCCC and made three saves.

The Golden Eagles will travel to Gillette College on Tuesday afternoon for a 1:00 PM kickoff for the final Region IX North match.
