The LCCC men's soccer team won 1-0 over Central Community College on Saturday afternoon. The Golden Eagles are now 15-2 this year and will move on to the Region IX semi-finals.
Laramie County had multiple opportunities with the first 10 minutes but saves from Adrian Ramos kept the Golden Eagles out of the net in the early going. Ramos would make seven first half saves, as LCCC fired away 10 shots in the half.
The Golden Eagles scored in the 58th minute as Jonathan Ruvalcaba was tripped in the box and Rafael Munoz scored his team-high 11th goal of the year to take a 1-0 lead.
Chances were difficult to come by for the Raiders offense as goalkeeper Andrew Hays only had to make one save in the contest. LCCC outshot CCC 26-1 in the match and held the advantage 16-1 in shots-on-goal.
The Golden Eagles travel to Denver, Colorado next Saturday October 22 as they will face Otero Junior College in a Region IX semi-final match at 1:30 p.m.
