LCCC men's soccer scored early and held onto the lead Friday afternoon in Powell, Wyoming to get a 3-0 win against Northwest College.
Jorge Rosales got a goal early for the Golden Eagles, scoring in the 12th minute on a pass from Rafael Munoz on a quick restart for the 1-0 lead. Rosales would add a second goal for Laramie County in the 28th minute, scoring his fifth goal of the season. The assist was credited to Blaine Christenson after he pressed the Trappers backline and created the turnover and found Rosales in front of net.
Fernando Uribe converted on a header off a header pass from Jordan Garcia in the 42nd minute giving the Golden Eagles a 3-0 advantage at the half. The lead would be enough the Golden Eagles as they would hold on for the 3-0 victory.
The Golden Eagles out-shot Northwest College 16-11 on the day, including 9-6 in shots-on-goal. Goalkeeper Andrew Hays made six saves on the day.
LCCC is now 11-2 on the year and 5-0 in Region IX North play.
