Men's Soccer Win 1-0 Against Western Nebraska

The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team grinded out a 1-0 victory Wednesday evening at Okie Blanchard Stadium against Western Nebraska Community College. This was the third Region IX North match for the Golden Eagles. With the win, the Golden Eagles are now 6-2 on the year and 3-0 in Region IX North.

LCCC jumped out to the lead in the early minutes when Rafael Munoz was taking down in the box and converted on a penalty kick in the 8th minute. The Golden Eagles continued to attack earning three corner kicks in the first twelve minutes but were unable to do anything with it.

Sophomore Caleb Rondon led LCCC with four shots in the match, while Munoz recorded three. Western Nebraska looked to pose a threat late in the first half but goalkeeper Andrew Hays kept things clean in the back. Hays had five saves in the game and posted his third clean sheet of the season.

Golden Eagles are back in action Saturday as they travel to Rock Springs, Wyoming for a match against Western Wyoming Community College. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:30 p.m.
