Men's Soccer Defeats Sheridan College 2-0

In its second consecutive home game, the Laramie County Community College men's soccer team (5-2) outlasted Sheridan College (0-4) by a score of 2-0.

Sophomore forward Tristan White scored the first goal of the game in the 3rd minute. White placed his shot low from 12 yards out on a pass from Rafael Munoz. LCCC maintained pressure on the Sheridan's defense throughout the first half, generating 12 shots to Sheridan's three, but could only find the net once.

Francisco Garcia doubled the lead in the 48th minute as Munoz found him wide open on the right side of the field. Garcia was able to cut back in tuck his shot into the corner. The Golden Eagles outshot the Generals 20-6 in the game.

"We are happy to earn a shutout," said head coach Vince Gibson. "We felt we created good chances and had our opportunities but we need to be better in front of goal."

Andrew Hays recorded the shutout and made two saves. This gives him a second clean sheet on the season. Next up for the Golden Eagles is a matchup at home against Western Nebraska Community College on Wednesday September 21st at 5 p.m. at Cheyenne East High School.
