Caleb Rondon headed the game-winning goal in the 6th minute off a cross from Francisco Garcia to lead the Laramie County Community College Golden Eagles to their third victory of the season, a 2-0 win over the Northeastern Junior College Plainsman Saturday Sept. 10 in Sterling, Colorado.
Rondon now has three goals in his last two games, with the other two the day before against Central Community College. LCCC lead 1-0 at the half.
LCCC doubled the lead in the 54th minute as Tristan White collected a pass from Jordan Garcia and dribbled past a defender and fired his shot into the back of the net.
The Golden Eagles (3-2) controlled the majority of possession and out-shot Northeastern 18-11 overall and 8-6 on-goal.
Andrew Hays made six saves for LCCC and Akim Lamond stopped six shots for the Plainsman (3-2-3).
The Golden Eagles will have their home opener on Friday Sept. 17 as they host Northwest College at 1:30 p.m. at LCCC.
