Men's Soccer Drop Pair of Matches in Florida

The Laramie County Community College men's soccer team lost 4-1 to #3 Eastern Florida State College Friday afternoon in Melbourne, Florida.

Sophomore Caleb Rondon (Los Oliuos, Peru) put LCCC on top just two minutes in as he capitalized on a miss clearance. That is Rondon's first goal of the young campaign.

Eastern Florida State would equalize in the 28th minute on a goal from Juan Parada. The Titans would take the lead right before the half as Danilo Orsi-Dadomo found the net in the 42nd minute. They would double the lead in the 60th minute as J.J. Donnelly got in behind the back line and finished his opportunity. Parada would get his second goal of the game in the 75th minute.

Eastern Florida held the advantage in the shot column 18-7 and corner kicks 5-3.

Freshman goalkeeper Andrew Hays (Gillette, Wyoming) played all 90 minutes and converted six saves, while conceding three goals.

 

Broward College Clips LCCC in 2OT

 

The LCCC men's soccer team dropped a 3-2 double overtime decision to Broward College Sunday afternoon in Melbourne, Florida.

The Golden Eagles are now 1-2 on the year. This was the first ever meeting between the two schools.

Freshman Blaine Christenson (Gillette, Wyoming) scored his first goal of the season on a blast from 26yards into the top left corner in the 20th minute. Fellow freshman Adrian Cordova (Fort Collins, Colorado) was credited with the assist. LCCC would take a 1-0 into halftime.

Golden Eagles would double the lead in the 64th minute as freshman Jonathan Ruvalcaba (Provo, Utah) found the back of the net on a pass from sophomore Tristan White (Riverton, Wyoming).

Broward would apply the pressure late in the match and cut the lead in half in the 82nd minute on a goal by Elijah Larin. With four minutes remaining, Broward found the net again to tie things up and send the match to overtime. They would get the game-winner in the 104th minute in the second overtime.

LCCC held a 10-9 shot advantage, but Broward had the advantage in shots on goal 8-6. Hays was in net for the Golden Eagles and made five saves.

The Golden Eagles are back on the road Friday for a 2 p.m. CST kickoff against Central Community College in Columbus, Nebraska.
