La JUNTA, CO - The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team opened the 2023 portion of their schedule with a 93-81 loss on the road to the Otero College Rattlers on Friday night. 

The Golden Eagles (8-6) were led in the effort by sophomore Xavier McCord, who's 28 points led the way in scoring, followed by Tristan Starks with 23, Brandon Tchouya with 15, and Jayden McCray with a season high 11. 

Laramie County had a balanced attack in the game, scroing 39 in the opening half and 42 in the second, but as a team they couldn't take advantage of their trips to the free throw line, going 17-37 as a team. 

The Golden Eagles are back on the road this week for one game on Tuesday night when they travel to Salt Lake Community College for a matchup with the #3 Bruins. The game can be streamed here with the opening tip scheduled for 5:00 pm.
