CHEYENNE, WY - The Golden Eagles saw a nine-point halftime advantage evaporate in the second half, losing 89-82 to McCook in the quarterfinals of the Region IX tournament on Thursday night.

LCCC opened the game on a 27-14 run but McCook was able to close the gap to nine at the break. Xavier McCord (Cheyenne, Wyo.) scored 13 of his 18 points in the first half.

McCook opened the second half on an 11-5 run and outscored the Golden Eagles 58-42 in the second half. 

Ghared Boyce (Brockton, Mass.) led all scorers, scoring 27 points, going 7-13 from the three-point line. Arion Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa.) scored 12 points in the loss. 

Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyo.) scored 20 points and had seven assists. 

The Golden Eagles finished the season with 11 wins, improving from last season's total by seven.
