CHEYENNE, WY - Xavier McCord (Cheyenne, Wyo.) ties a career-high with 28 points, leading all scorers in a Golden Eagles (3-9) 90-78 loss to Trinidad State (1-3). 

McCord scored 17 of his 28 points in the first half and finished the game with a double-double, collecting 10 rebounds. 

The Golden Eagles fell behind early thanks to a Trinidad State 6-0 run. LCCC put together a 9-0 run, taking the lead for the second time at 18-17 on a McCord layup. 

The Trojans used a 7-0 run to build the lead back and eventually opened up a 40-31 lead before McCord hit a three to cut it to six. 

Trinidad State finished the half on an 8-0 run as the Golden Eagles went into the locker room trailing 48-34. 

The Golden Eagles and Trojans played almost even in the second half. LCCC cut the deficit to ten at 63-53 on a Ghared Boyce (Brockton, Mass.) three and then later cut it to eight at 74-66 on a McCord bucket but could get no closer.

Boyce ended the game with 14 points off the bench while Erik Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyo.) finished with 17 points. 

LCCC returns home on Tuesday when they face Eastern Wyoming at 7:30 pm.
