Balanced Effort Not Enough For Golden Eagles

MCCOOK, NE - Marko Maletic (London, Ontario) led all scorers with 21 points as the Golden Eagles (3-6) fell to the McCook Indians (5-1) 90-85 on Friday night in McCook.

The Golden Eagles got out to a 4-0 lead before McCoook put together a 7-0 run to grab the lead. While the Golden Eagles trailed most of the first half before Arion Lewis (Philadelphia, Pa) hit his third three of the half, giving the Golden Eagles a lead at 31-29.

Lewis ended the game with 15 points, going 3-for-3 from the three-point line. 

McCook ended the half on a 12-2 run as the Golden Eagles trailed 41-33 at the half. 

Ashraf Tchadouwa (Toronto, Ontario) finished with a career-high 18 points while grabbing six rebounds. Xavier McCord (Cheyenne, Wyo.) followed up a 10-rebound game on Tuesday with nine boards against McCook while scoring 12 points.

Maletic got hot in the second half, hitting a pair of threes to tie the game at 58 before McCook went on a 10-2 run to regain control. 

The Golden Eagles dropped their third straight game, losing 9-85 to kick off a four-game road stretch.
