CHEYENNE – After the conclusion of the Region IX Tournament, the league announced the All-Region First, Second and Third team on Monday as Tyrese Potoma (Regina, Canada) was named to the All-Region IX Third Team.
Potoma's first All-Region honor as freshman was well deserved as he led the Golden Eagles in scoring. This season, Potoma played and started in all 31 games for LCCC. Potoma led the Golden Eagles scoring efforts with 18.8 points per game while also pulling down 3.4 rebounds per game.
He scored at all three levels, which is supported by 45.1 percent shooting percentage from the field (196-435) and 45.2 percent from long distance (99-219). His 3.2 three-pointers a game ranked third in Region IX play and 18th in the NJCAA. In addition, Potoma shot 83.8 percent from the free-throw line.
Potoma scored in double figures in 27-of-31 games played, including a 10-game stretch to start the season. He registered 15 20-plus point performances and buried at least five 3-pointers in eight games this season.
He had a career-high 37 points at #6 Casper College. Potoma had four 30-plus point games.
