Cheyenne, WY – The Laramie County Community College men's basketball team dropped their season opener 78-75 to Northwest College at home.

LCCC was led by Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) who had a team-high 26 points. Kyle Wright (West Orange, New Jersey) had 10 rebounds in the game. Zaire Mateen (Queens, New York) dropped 18 points and dished out four assists. Mateen also had a team-high four steals.

As a team the Golden Eagles shot 40.6 percent from the field. The Trappers shot 46.3 percent from the field.

The Golden Eagels 0-1 overall will be back in action Friday as they host Northern Colorado P2P Elite at 7 p.m.
