CHEYENNE – A strong shooting performance helped the Golden Eagles as Laramie County (19-9, 11-3) defeated McCook Community College (14-12, 4-9), 95-91 in South Sub-Region competition Saturday afternoon in Cheyenne.

The Golden Eagles will host Northeastern Junior College at 7 p.m. Wednesday at home. Golden Eagles currently sit as the number one seed of the South with two games remaining.

LCCC came back after trailing by two at the half.

Da'Zhon Wyche (Anchorage, Alaska) nearly had a double-double with 28 points and nine assists in the effort while Ola Ayodele (London, England) sported 17 points and nine rebounds. Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) and Harrison Meads (New Plymouth, New Zealand) has 13 and 12 points respectively.

Laramie County completed the afternoon at 31-of-63 shooting for 49.2 percent and banked on 7-of-21 from beyond the arc.
