TRINIDAD, Colorado – Laramie County Community College came out on the winning end against Trinidad State Junior College as the Golden Eagles put together a 17-10 run in the overtime period to secure the 104-97 victory Friday night in Trinidad.

Trailing by 14 at the half and 18 at one point early in the second half, the Golden Eagles went on a run in the second half that brought them back within striking distance. LCCC (16-9, 8-3) with Da'Zhon Wyche connecting on a pair of three-pointers during the spurt to pull the Golden Eagles into the lead.

LCCC swept the season series with Trinidad State, defeating them 73-70 at home back in early January. Wyche nearly registered a double-double with a game-high 27 points and nine assists. Landon Taliaferro added a season-high 20 points with 4-5 from the three-point line. Harrison Meads added 18 points and led the Golden Eagles with eight rebounds on the night.

Laramie County shot 61.5 percent (40-of-65) from the floor including a 55.6 percent (10-of-18) from three-point range but struggled from the charity stripe with just a 56 percentage (14-of-25). The Golden Eagles shot 63.2 percent (24-of-38) in the second half and overtime while holding Trinidad State to just 36.1 percent (13-of-36). The Trojans shot 48.4 percent (30-of-62) for the game, going 31.3 percent (10-of-32) from three and 81.8 percent from the free-throw line (27-of-32).

Karamoko Cisse led TSJC with 19 points while Malik Hart and Charles Henderson added 15 and 11 points, respectively.

LCCC concludes its weekend road trip Saturday with a 4 p.m. meeting against Otero Junior College in La Junta, Colorado.
