CHEYENNE, WY – Laramie County Community College men's basketball team zoomed by Eastern Wyoming College 97-78 in a South Sub Region match-up.

The Golden Eagles improve to 13-8 overall and 7-2 in South Sub Region, while the Lancers fall to 2-18 overall and 0-9 in South Sub Region play.

The Golden Eagles defeated the Lancers back at the end of November 110-94 and took the season sweep with the victory Wednesday night.

The game was pretty tight the first ten minutes. With about five minutes remaining in the first half the Golden Eagles began to dominate the game as they climbed to a seven point lead at the half. The second half was all LCCC as they led by double-digits majority of the half.

LCCC had a better shooting percent in the game at 51.5 percent for 35-of-68 compared to EWC 45.3 percent for 29-of-64. The Lancers committed 17 turnovers, while the Golden Eagles had 12.

LCCC's Alfonzo Anderson (Newark, New Jersey) led the team in scoring with 18 points on 8-of-12, including 2-of-4 from 3-point range. He added eight rebounds, four assists, three steals and a block. Dominik Heinzl (Uzov, Czech Republic) had 17 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including 5-of-7 from the foul line. Three other Golden Eagles scored in double figures: Da'Zhon Wyche (Anchorage, Alaska) had 14 points, Elijah Oliver (Cheyenne, Wyoming) added 11 points and Ola Ayodele (London, England) chipped in with 10 points.

The Golden Eagles hit 38.1 percent from the 3-point line going 8-of-21 and 19-of-25 from the foul line for 76 percent. The Lancers were 29.2 percent from the 3-point line on 7-of-24 shooting.

The Golden Eagles will hit the road against Western Nebraska Community College on Jan. 28 at 4 p.m.
