ROCK SPRINGS, Wyoming - An explosive first half gave Laramie County Community College a large victory Friday, as LCCC defeated Planet Athlete Academy 80-54 in the first game of the Mustang Invitational in Rock Springs, Wyoming.

Up 26 at half, The Golden Eagles (4-5) maintained that lead throughout the game. LCCC held Planet Athlete Academy to 17 first half points. Harrison Meads poured in 17 points to lead the Golden Eagles, going 8-of-13 from the field. He also pulled down nine rebounds. Elijah Oliver added 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, while Ola Ayodele added 10 points and six assists. Alfonzo Anderson pulled down 11 rebounds.

LCCC shot 46.2 percent from the floor and made 4-of-21 3-pointers and only connected on 4-of-13 free throws, but held Planet Athlete to 37.7 percent from the floor. They were only 3-of-19 from the three-point line.

LCCC will return to action Saturday at 2 p.m. against USU-Eastern Utah.
