LCCC Men’s Basketball Falls in Opener in OT vs. NOCO All-Stars

Laramie County Community College opened its season opener with a 111-108 OT loss to Northern Colorado All-Stars Friday evening.

The Golden Eagles received a game-tying three-pointer from Da'Zhon Wyche with 2.3 seconds to play in regulation. Northern Colorado All-Stars missed at the end of regulation, and the two teams headed to the extra session.

In the overtime, NOCO All-Stars grabbed a late three-point lead with a couple baskets from Wes Porter. LCCC had a chance to tie when Wyche hoisted a three-pointer but came off the side of the rim.

LCCC (0-1) was led by Wyche with 28 points. He added five rebounds, five assists and two steals. Alfonzo Anderson contributed 21 points and Ola Ayodele chipped in 14 points.

Harrison Meads was the lone player in double-double figures with 19 rebounds and 11 points for the Golden Eagles.

LCCC will now host #16 College of Southern Idaho on Saturday at LCCC Gymnasium. Tip-off for the matchup is scheduled for 4 p.m.
