League of Legends sees season close after postseason loss to #2 Northern Virginia

CHEYENNE, WY – The Laramie County Community College League of Legends team once again was able to qualify for the postseason and found themselves facing the second seeded Northern Virginia Community College Nighthawks in the opening round.

Game one found the Nighthawks gaining the early edge with an aggressive attack that kept the Golden Eagles from being able to gain a foothold. The stat that said more than anything in the opening game was the 16-1 kill count in favor of Northern Virginia.

Game two started out better for Laramie County, as they laid the first blows, but Northern Virginia started to flex their muscle again about seven minutes into the game. While they were able to pull away the Golden Eagles kept up their aggressive mentality and while the match time was faster, they had more success with 12 team kills and they were able to take down one dragon before the match ended.

Game three was almost all Northern Virginia from the start, picking up 10 kills before the Golden Eagles could respond and they wrapped up the game in 13 minutes with a 24-5 kill count.

The season wraps up for the LCCC League of Legends team with a 4-4 overall record and a second straight trip to the postseason field in just their second semester as a team.

The Golden Eagles still have five more titles competing for postseason spots this week as the regular season ends for both Call of Duty games, Rainbow Six: Siege, Overwatch 2, and Hearthstone. More information on the schedules can be found at www.golccc.com.
