CHEYENNE, WY - A number of former and current LCCC Rodeo athletes are spending their summer competing in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association and performed well in Grover, Colo in late June. 

LCCC rodeo athletes competed in the Earl Anderson Memorial Rodeo in Grover, Colo over the second to last weekend of June with five of them taking home winnings.

Ian McGivney, who will return to LCCC this upcoming fall, took home first place in saddle bronc riding with 81.5 points, winning $857. The Kaycee, Wyo native tied for first at the Shawn Dubee Memorial Rodeo this past fall. Former LCCC Golden Eagle Houston Brown followed right behind in second place, posting 81 points and earning $643.

In steer wrestling, Kalane Anders split the win at 4.3 seconds, earning $839. Anders, a Bayard, Neb. native, won the region his freshman year in steer wrestling at LCCC. 

Two former athletes, Bailey Brown and Sydney Graff along with current rodeo athlete Caydee Johnson placed in the top five in the short round for Grover's Breakaway. Brown, a North Platte, Neb. native, finished 3rd with a 2.50, earning $1,116.72. Graff, a Long Pine, Neb. native finished right behind Brown, placing 4th with a 2.60, earning $308.88, the same amount as Caydee Johnson, who placed 5th with a 2.60 as well. 

Just like McGivney, Johnson will be returning to LCCC in the fall after a strong freshman year which saw the Manhattan, Mont. native finish third in the breakaway at the Shawn Dubie Memorial Rodeo. 

The Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association is the oldest and biggest rodeo-sanctioning body in the world and holds events in 38 states throughout the year.
