Perez saw ups and downs during his first official year as the Head Coach of the Golden Eagles, taking the team to the Region IX postseason for the second straight season, although they fell in the opening round to Western Nebraska to end the year at 5-7-1. They did have a strong conference record, going 5-3-1 in Region IX play with their only losses taking place either in postseason action or in non-conference games.

As the Interim Head Coach of the Golden Eagles, Perez took the team to a 7-7-2 record in 2022. He assumed head coaching duties in December 2021 after completing two seasons as an assistant coach with the men's soccer team after spending the previous three seasons in the same capacity at Montana State University-Billings.

Perez has seen a multitude of players sign to NCAA Divison II programs in his two seasons as a head coach, with players moving on to play for UCCS, Metro State, Regis, CSU-Pueblo, Westminster, and MSU-Billings.

During his time in Billings, Perez served as a volunteer assistant coach, helping the Yellowjackets to 24 wins over his three seasons on the coaching staff.

Perez joined the Yellowjackets coaching staff after playing two seasons in Billings, logging1,875 minutes in his two seasons at MSUB, and scored a pair of goals while totaling 29 shots playing primarily as a defensive midfielder in the center of the field.

Perez is no stranger to LCCC, playing two seasons for the Golden Eagles and Vince Gibson in 2012 and 2013.
