CHEYENNE – Cassidy Nelson (South Jordan, Utah) and Gwen Sheldon (Loveland, Colorado) have been named to the 2019 All-Region IX North Team by the region's head coaches.
Nelson, led the Golden Eagles with 548 kills on the season. She averaged 4.12 kills per set, which is seventh best in the country. Her 548 kills rank fourth currently in the country for total kills. Nelson was also second on the team in digs with 404.
Nelson set a school record for most kills in a match twice, first one coming against Western Nebraska Community College on Oct. 18th with 27 kills. She broke that record on the final game of the regular season against Northwest College on Nov. 2 with 29 kills.
Sheldon, led LCCC in assists with 911 on the season. She also recorded 213 digs on the year. She had a season-high 56 assists against Northwest College on Nov. 2. Sheldon had seven matches where she had over 40 assists in a match.
