Cheyenne, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College volleyball team defeated Casper College 3-1 (25-23, 25-20, 22-25, 25-15). Cassidy Nelson (South Jordan, Utah) totaled 21 kills in the match. Gwen Sheldon (Loveland, Colorado) racked up 47 assists.

In the first set Laramie County jumped out an early lead with some aces. Each time Casper would rally, LCCC would answer and push their lead and secure a 25-23 lead. Cameron Callahan (Parker, Colorado) began the second set with a couple kills. Laramie County would go on a late run and use a spurt to get the 25-20 win.

The third set began with the same seesawing back and forth most of the second set had. From a tied match midway through, Casper went on a 3-0 run to give them the edge and not lose the lead taking the set 25-22.

The fourth set had LCCC go on several runs throughout the set and would not give up the set the rest of the way. As LCCC cruised to 25-15 win.

Laramie County will hit the road Tuesday against Northeastern Junior College at 7 p.m. MT.
