Golden Eagles Outlast Central Wyoming

RIVERTON, Wyo. – The Laramie County Community College volleyball team topped Central Wyoming, 3-0, on Saturday afternoon to pick up a Region IX North win. Sophomore Cassidy Nelson (South Jordan, Utah) posted 13 kills and seven digs to help lead the Golden Eagles. The win moves the Golden Eagles to 5-3 in Region IX North play. LCCC took the sets 27-25, 25-15, 25-21.

Next behind Nelson, freshman Kyla Childers (Parker, Colorado) and Kalme Moncavo (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) added eight kills. Setter Shelby Veenstra (Twin Falls, Idaho) led the act on the assists with 30 on the afternoon.

Sophomore libero Kendzee Cloward (South Jordan, Utah) paced the defense with 12 digs.

The Golden Eagles improve to 7-21 on the season and 5-3 in Region IX North play while the Rustlers fall to 11-14 overall and 4-4 in Region IX North play.

The Golden Eagles remain on the road, traveling to Eastern Wyoming College in Torrington, Wyoming. LCCC will take on the Lady Lancers at 7 p.m. on Tuesday in a Region IX North match.
