Volleyball Picks Up Win Against Central Wyoming

CHEYENNE, Wyo. – Laramie County Community College volleyball team picked up a four set victory on Saturday in a Region IX matchup against Central Wyoming College. The Golden Eagles battled and took the match 25-22, 25-18, 21-25, 25-15.

Cassidy Nelson (South Jordan, Utah) led the way for the Golden Eagles offensively with 15 kills. Kyla Childers (Parker, Colorado) followed with 13 kills. Gwen Sheldon (Loveland, Colorado) had 43 assists. Nelson had a team-high 21 digs in the win. Shelby Veenstra (Twin Falls, Idaho) added 12 digs. Sheldon and Veenstra each had three service aces. As a team, the Golden Eagles had a season-high 18 blocks.

The Golden Eagles (4-19, 2-2 Region IX North) will travel on Tuesday to Western Nebraska Community College. Start time is scheduled for 7 p.m.
