LCCC Volleyball Completes Weekend Sweep

MILES CITY – Avery Nelson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) had a game-high 15 kills in the match to lead Laramie County Community College to its eighth straight win in a 25-9, 25-13, 25-18 victory over Miles Community College in the Region IX regular season volleyball match Saturday on the road.

The Golden Eagles improved to 28-6 overall and 13-1 in Region IX North. The Golden Eagles had clinched the league title the night before with a win at Northwest College and will be the number one seed at the Region IX North Tournament.

Payton Stack (Casper, Wyoming) finished with 10 kills and three blocks for LCCC. Libero Macy Bourn (Frederick, Colorado) had 13 digs to lead the Golden Eagles, who got 22 assists from Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) and nine from Renae Davis (Pleasant View, Utah).

Kyla Schleuning led Miles with five kills and Kailey Thomson had 18 digs.

Laramie County travels to Sheridan, Wyoming for the Region IX North Tournament. They will start action on Wednesday, Nov. 1st against Miles Community College at noon.
