CHEYENNE – Avery Nelson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) finished with 11 kills and a .286 hitting percentage to lift #16 Laramie County Community College to a 25-15, 25-18, 25-11 sweep vs Casper College in Region IX North volleyball match on Saturday.
The win was LCCC's sixth straight and 12th in its last 13 matches, lifting the Golden Eagles to 26-6 overall and 11-1 in Region play. The win also keeps the Golden Eagles in first place in the Region IX North.
The victory sets up a matchup between LCCC and the only team to not them off in region play Northwest College on Friday in Powell for a 7 p.m. battle.
Payton Stack (Casper, Wyoming) had three serving aces and four blocks. Kylie Martin (Gypsum, Colorado) had seven kills and only three errors in 14 attacks, adding three serving aces as well. Carlee Morrison had six kills and four errors on 22 attempts and led the Golden Eagles with eight digs. Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) led with 30 assists and four serving aces.
Heather Rubis led Casper with six kills.
