LCCC Volleyball Sweep Sheridan College

CHEYENNE, Wyoming – The momentum from a big win Wednesday night continued as the Golden Eagles swept Sheridan College Friday night.

Laramie County's defense tested Sheridan all night and it led to a 25-13, 25-20, 25-14 victory at home.

Fighting hard early, a kill from Avery Nelson (Colorado Springs, Colorado) had the Golden Eagles (26-6, 11-1) up early and another kill by Payton Stack (Casper, Wyoming) got them on a roll to win the opening set. LCCC was able to secure the set and third set in similar fashion.

Part of the Golden Eagles success came from a tough defense, which made 42 digs and added 10 blocks in the match, holding the Generals to just 21 kills as a team.

Nelson led the Golden Eagle offense with 17 kills in the match, while Carlee Morrison (Gypsum, Colorado) and Kylie Martin (Gypsum, Colorado) added 12 and 10 digs respectively. Setter Kyra Brandt (Amsterdam, Netherlands) dished out 35 assists for the Golden Eagles, who return to the court Saturday playing against Casper College at home at 3 p.m.
