Golden Eagles Soar to Dominant 6-0 Victory Over Lamar Community College

Laramie County Community College's women's soccer team delivered a commanding performance, defeating Lamar Community College 6-0 in a match that showcased their attacking prowess and defensive discipline.

The Golden Eagles wasted no time asserting themselves, opening the scoring in just the 4th minute. A well-orchestrated build-up play found Delaney Lucas wide on the flank, who beat her defender and delivered a pinpoint cross to the far post. Waiting was Avery Anderson, who volleyed the ball home to give LCCC an early 1-0 lead.

LCCC continued to dominate possession and create chances, but Lamar's defense held firm until the 43rd minute. Forward Emma Cortez found space 25 yards out and unleashed a curling shot to the far post, beating Lamar goalkeeper Jazlyn Yomona and doubling the lead. The Golden Eagles entered halftime up 2-0, having outshot Lamar 16-1.

A lightning delay extended the halftime break, but it did little to cool LCCC's momentum. Once play resumed, the Golden Eagles came out firing, pinning Lamar deep in their own half and creating wave after wave of scoring opportunities.

In the 64th minute, midfielder Madi Moore set up a long-range strike for Jentrie Porter from 27 yards out, which was rifled into the net to make it 3-0. The pressure continued as LCCC's backline consistently won aerial duels and kept the attack flowing.

The fourth goal came in the 77th minute when Victoria Espinoza won a crucial ball and found Avery Anderson, who struck a low-driven shot from 18 yards out to notch her second goal of the game.

Just three minutes later, Jentrie Porter delivered a low cross into the box, where Emma Cortez was waiting to one-touch the ball into the back of the net for her second goal. Cortez completed her hat trick in the 85th minute, capitalizing on a defensive misclearance inside the six-yard box to seal the 6-0 victory.

LCCC's defense stood tall throughout the match, earning their second shutout of the season. The Golden Eagles posted an impressive 39 total shots, showcasing their relentless offensive pressure and tactical execution.
