Early goals prove too much as LCCC falls to #9 Daytona State College 2-0

DAYTONA, FL – The Laramie County Community College women's soccer team put up a strong fight against #9 Daytona State College but found themselves on the wrong side of a 2-0 score by the final horn.

The scoring opened in the 16th minute when a ball slipped past the defense on a backwards past an went just inside the right post to give Daytona a 1-0 lead to start.

Daytona State would add another goal fifteen minutes later in the 31st minute when a shot from ten yards out bounced off the left post and in for a 2-0 deficit for LCCC to rally from at the half.

The Golden Eagles played the Falcons to a nil-nil draw in the second half despite being outshot 16-4 in the period.

Kiara Kershaw made 13 saves in the game to lead the defensive effort while all three of the Golden Eagles shots on goal were saved.
